About
MOEMOE STUDIOS is a Scandinavian design and art brand based in Copenhagen, led by the painter and interior designer Marie-Louise Moe.
Art
With a background in urban planning and advertising, Marie-Louise merges elements from both fields into her art. Her work focuses on the interplay and conflict between urban environments, the digital world, and nature, themes she vividly explores in her pieces.
Marie-Louise explains, "At MOEMOE STUDIOS, I draw inspiration from the world around us. I believe that art and design should be intertwined, and I strive to create handcrafted pieces for the modern home. Our color palettes align with current trends, resulting in unique and honest pieces that reflect the complexity of our world."
Interior design
Marie-Louise is a passionate home decorator with an eye for detail and a love for transforming spaces. With years of experience and a natural flair for design, Marie-Louise thrives on helping others create beautiful, functional, and personalized homes. She believes that every room should tell a story and reflect the personality of its inhabitants.
Marie-Louise is dedicated to understanding her clients' tastes and needs, ensuring that each project is a collaborative and enjoyable experience. Whether it's selecting the perfect color palette, finding unique decor pieces, or reimagining the layout of a room, Marie-Louise brings creativity and expertise to every aspect of home decoration. Her goal is to create spaces that not only look stunning but also feel warm and inviting, making every house feel like a true home.
sustainability
In my interior design and art, sustainability is a central element where I consciously choose materials and colors that support a more responsible lifestyle. By using eco-friendly paint, which is often less harmful to the environment due to lower levels of chemicals and VOCs (volatile organic compounds), I create clean, calming spaces that are both healthy for indoor air quality and aesthetically pleasing. Additionally, I use cardboard as a canvas in my artworks, which reduces the need for newly manufactured materials and gives new life to recycled materials that might otherwise end up as waste. This approach reflects my dedication to combining creativity with a responsible attitude towards the environment.
I aim to ensure that my solutions are long-lasting, with a focus on preserving a circular economy through the use of furniture, art, and antiques. By choosing timeless, high-quality materials and repurposed items, I invest in pieces that can endure for many years, countering the throwaway culture. Antiques and artworks with history not only add character to the interior but also support a sustainable approach where existing resources are preserved and reused. This method ensures that my choices are not only aesthetically pleasing but also contribute to a more responsible and enduring way of living.
Marie-Louise Moe
“Contrasts in a home, like the blend of new and antique furniture and the interplay of vibrant and muted colors, create a perfect harmony that enriches and enlivens each space.”
